That’s our mobile clinic, VSP Mobile EyesSM. What started as an extension of our relief efforts after hurricanes Katrina and Rita is now a permanent part of our community outreach. We’re bringing eyecare and eyewear to people in need.
The program includes two 40-foot mobile coaches and 10 sets of portable ophthalmic equipment. One coach is ready now; the second is targeted for 2008.
The first coach features two exam rooms and a dispensary, which are used for providing exams and materials during outreach efforts and disaster relief. At other times, the coach promotes the importance of regular eyecare.
