The Atlanta Braves and VSP (Vision Service Plan) held a sports vision clinic for 50 kids from the Centennial Place YMCA on July 29th. The kids tried hitting baseballs wearing goggles that distorted their vision. They also learned different vision techniques for tracking a baseball from the pitcher's hand to home plate. Local VSP network eye doctors led the sports vision drills. The kids also participated in hitting, fielding and pitching drills led by Braves coach Frank Fultz and Braves players John Foster and Pete Orr.
Braves starting pitcher John Thompson recorded a message to parents that was played on the centerfield video board before the Braves game that night.
